Commonly referred to as a “witch ball” or “protection ball,” these glass spheres have been suspended in countless windows over centuries to ward off evil spirits. Legend says that evil spirits are attracted to the beauty of the ball, &, upon touching its surface, are pulled inside & become forever trapped within the globe, thus protecting the home from any harm.
Within this ball, stretching from the bottom to top, is carefully crafted glass that branches out to mimic a tree trunk. Autumnal colors of orange, red & green cascade down to form the canopy “leaves.” No two witch balls are the same — each is a unique handcrafted work of art!
