Replica Waterloo Medal. The medal was issued to British Army soldiers and the King's German Legion who fought at the battles of Quatre Bras, Ligny, or Waterloo on June 16 and 18, 1815. It was the first British "campaign" medal issued to all soldiers present at an action, regardless of rank. The obverse (front) of the medal typically features a seated figure of Victory with the inscription "WELLINGTON" above and "WATERLOO" and the date "JUNE 18 1815" below, as seen in the image. Original medals were named around the edge to the recipient, including their name, rank, and regiment.
