This is a 1950s U.S. Army medical jacket.
It's called a Convalescent Jacket, and it was worn by patients who were close to recovery.
Medical-related items are really rare.
It doesn't have much wash or fading yet, so it has a glossy look, but it will develop vertical fading as you wear it, making it a jacket you can enjoy growing like vintage denim.
The 40s version doesn't have chest pockets and comes in burgundy, and the 60s and later versions only have two pockets, so the slash pockets of this 50s version are still the coolest. It's packed with details of old and good clothing, such as the characteristic curved collar of the 50s and the double-welt slash pockets.
YouTuber Haruki's vintage clothing channel featured Maruyama purchasing a 60s version.
The size is also L, the most popular golden size.
This is a special military jacket that doesn't come around often.
