These decks were technically the first ever English Pokemon cards released in the US. They were shipped right before the holidays in 1998 to retail shops and TCG League leaders to educate them on the base deck that was released in January 1999. You could not buy these and they are also the only WOTC Pokemon cards to feature a non-standard back as you can see in the photos they have a red border instead of blue and say Trainer Deck A .
