Bijutsukai and Shin-Bijutsukai were published in the Meiji era (1868–1912) by Unsodo, a Kyoto-based art publishing company and the only publisher of hand-printed woodblock books in Japan. Both books are collections of beautiful craft designs by various designers and Japanese painters. Each book contains more than 250 outstanding craft designs from among the large number of craft designs.
