A near perfect 16 Hertwig low brow doll from the mid to late 1800s. She is from lot #3, so one of the earlier ones.
That would make her about 160'ish years old. Which is astounding, given that she is in near perfect condition.
The only noted flaw she has, it that small parts of her hair has rubbed off. A majority remains painted black. There is no damage to her body, dress or any of her her porcelain limbs. All paint is still intact (with the exception of parts of her hair). Although her head and neck area appear to be sewn on, it also seems as though it was glued. I can't see the glue but there is no budging of the porcelain from the body. She has been safely packed away and kept in pristine condition. It is extremely rare to find a Hertwig doll with her original dress, which she has. The dress itself, is exquisite, with an intricate velvet lace swirl pattern. There are not tears or stains on the dress and it remains pinned on the doll.
Truly a rare find.
