This is an early button dating from 1790-1820. This specimen is called a Livery button and has a dragon holding a sphere standing on a platform. Its a one piece button measuring 23mm and made of thick brass. Backmark reads Warrented Best Quality and the intact shank is soldered on. Really nice button with no cracks or dings. I found this button in Marshall, Va. in 2016 Thanks and check out my profile for more excavated items
