From 1860-1960 a Pullman on a train were private luxurious parlor cars equipped with the finest amenities of the time and the servers to these cars wore the Pullman buttons. George Pullman invented these train cars in the 1860s hence the name. It carries the Scovill MFG Waterbury mark and shank is intact. I found this button in a yard in the town of Culpeper, Va. thanks and check out my profile for more dug goodies
