I am selling this rare and unique keepsake box, made of brass and decorated with purple amethyst stones. The inside of the box is lined with thin strips of cedar wood. There are no markings to indicate its age, provenance, or manufacturer, but likely dates from the early 20th century.
Medium size, ideal for storing small trinkets or jewelry items. It is solid and sturdy. Stones are a deep and dark purple, irregularly shaped and arranged to cover the surface of the box.
In excellent vintage condition. Brass finish is weathered on the outside and bottom yet retains its shine and golden color on the inside. Amethyst stones have some accumulated dust in the crevices but all rocks are securely attached and none are missing. Hinge operates freely and lid closes completely. Cedar lining is clean and free of significant scratching or dings. See photos for details of condition, sold as is.
